2x Permanent Senior Researchers – Scottish Parliament
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Parliament’s work on scrutiny of the economy and economic policy landscape and the public finances. You will work within the Financial Scrutiny Unit (a team of 7 including this post). We are recruiting for two positions – one will focus on the economy and economic development and the other is a cross-cutting post, potentially covering all aspects of the team’s remit. However, all members of the team work flexibly to cover a wide range of subjects and you could be involved in answering enquiries on issues including the Scottish Budget, the UK Budget, economic development, the Scottish economy, local government, devolved taxes, the impact of constitutional change, climate finance, broadband and tourism. You will prepare committee briefings and analysis to help MSPs scrutinise the related policies of the Scottish Government, and you will publish briefings and blog articles on relevant issues.
