EDAS, through our Community Wealth Building (CWB) Centre for Excellence, and on behalf of the Scottish Government is delivering a work programme to grow knowledge sharing, build expertise and skills and highlight good practice in organisations looking to start, or develop their CWB activities.
Over the next six months, we will be conducting a range of activities including events, podcasts, developing a CWB video and a refreshing the CWB Guide.
The first event in the series will focus on a key pillar of CWB- plural ownership. This is a timely event, given the recent independent review and report into increasing Inclusive and Democratic Business Models. This event will explore the vitally important role that Cooperatives, Social enterprises, employee-owned businesses and other forms of democratic ownership models, play in developing Scotland’s economy. We will also look at how specific CWB actions and activities under the auspices of economic development can enable, grow and advance these types of enterprises.
