EDAS AGM

March 26 @ 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm

With guest speakers, Professor Graeme Roy and Dr David Waite, University of Glasgow

Hosted by Neil McInroy, Chair of EDAS and Global lead for community wealth building, The Democracy Collaborative

Panel guests from Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Scottish Enterprise, Skills Development Scotland and South of Scotland Enterprise.

The timing of this year’s AGM coincides with 25 years since EDAS’ formation and the launch of our 2024 – 2027 strategy and plans for our anniversary year.

EDAS shares this anniversary with twenty-five years of devolution. But how has economic development changed over the last quarter of a century? Has devolution enabled policymakers to be more radical with their ideas or has it led to a scaling back of ambition for fear of failure? Can we conclude that economic performance has got better or worse? Graeme Roy and David Waite will discuss the changing landscape of economic development policy in recent decades, including drawing upon new research on the evolving policy mix here in Scotland.

Panel guests:

Karen Jackson, Director of Strategy, Partnership and Engagement, South of Scotland Enterprise
Neil Francis, Managing Director, Digital and Major Projects, Scottish Enterprise
Paul Zealey, Skills Planning Lead, Skills Development Scotland
Alastair Nicolson, Area Manager for Lochaber, Skye and Wester Ross, Highlands and Islands Enterprise

Join EDAS Chair, Neil McInroy, guest speakers and panel for this special anniversary AGM.
