About our Net Zero Community of Practice…

At the Economic Development Association Scotland conference in May 2021, EDAS committed to establishing a Community of Practice that enables economic development actors to become climate leaders. We then launched shortly after the June inaugural meeting, where key focus areas were decided.

Building on the knowledge gained from the recent COP26 in Glasgow, there is no better time to continue the Net Zero Community of Practice. EDAS are therefore delighted to invite members and those operating within an economic development role to attend the upcoming series.

During Community of Practice events attendees will hear from experts across the public, private and charitable sectors. Speakers will share knowledge, translate policy, but, most importantly, draw on real-life examples of best practice in Scotland and from across the globe. It’s an opportunity to explore what Net Zero looks like in practice, to hear how others are finding solutions to common problems so that you can then apply learnings within your own organisation.

The Community of Practice will encourage bold action in place of rhetoric. It will focus on how organisations are reaching for Net Zero within the discipline of Economic Development, as opposed to reiterating policy and process.
