Against a backdrop of EDAS’ continuing focus on ‘people, planet and place’, this will be the final event in a series of three held this season, preceded by ‘Women in Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Innovation in Scotland – The 10-year Strategy’.
Encouraging entrepreneurship is a key action in the Scottish Government’s National Strategy for Economic Transformation. By promoting a culture of entrepreneurship, we can in turn diversify Scotland’s business base, take our place as a world-leading innovative nation, and help people of all backgrounds to fulfil their potential. By becoming a place of innovation and growth, we’ll then also reap the wider benefits to society.
This session will welcome key individuals from across Scotland’s entrepreneurial and business landscapes to discuss how we’re fostering a culture of entrepreneurship in Scotland. The first part of the session will welcome Mark Logan, Scotland’s Chief Entrepreneur, to set the scene; covering policy and aims, before clarifying how we demonstrate delivery, and nurture the key levers to driving output – talent supply, infrastructure, and funding. The second part of the session will cover three main topics: The Scottish Startup Ecosystem, Community Entrepreneurship, and The Entrepreneurial Campus, hearing from key speakers who, together, have worked with some of Scotland’s foremost entrepreneurial ecosystems and funding organisations.
Why Attend?
The purpose of the session is to update on Scotland’s plans, ambitions, and action in relation to entrepreneurship.
Who’s it for?
Scotland’s economic development community – any individual or organisation that plays a part in creating a thriving economy, and supporting the prosperity and wellbeing of Scotland’s people, businesses, communities, and environment.
