Survey Deadline Approaches on Scotland’s Future Infrastructure Landscape
The Scottish Futures Trust (SFT) is urging professionals across sectors to have their say on Scotland’s future infrastructure priorities, as the deadline for its survey is set to close on Monday, 30 September 2024 at 5 pm.
SFT, a body established by the Scottish Government, is collecting insights from both public and private sectors to help shape its upcoming five-year Corporate Plan, to be published in April 2025. The survey has so far gathered responses on a variety of key issues, including:
- Innovative new investment models to fund public infrastructure,
- Expanded active and sustainable transport initiatives,
- Accelerated programmes for building decarbonisation, and
- Solutions for addressing potholes.
Chief Executive of the Scottish Futures Trust, Peter Reekie, emphasised the importance of gathering feedback, stating:
“With an ever–shifting infrastructure landscape, coupled with recently announced budget cuts, we must remain innovative in how we deliver future infrastructure. It’s great that we are hearing from a broad range of people from all sectors, telling us what is important to them.”
Reekie further encouraged anyone involved in infrastructure across Scotland to complete the survey, which will be used to inform SFT’s efforts to maximise the benefits from infrastructure projects.
The survey is open to all individuals working in fields such as housing, education, energy, digital communications, economic investment, real estate, construction, infrastructure technology, and transport.
